Data Protection Act

Data Protection Act

Under the 1998 Data Protection Act, organisations have a legal duty to protect all forms of personal and confidential information - from initial receipt, through to destruction in such a way that it can’t be recreated.

If you don’t comply, you could face fines or even prosecution. That’s why secure shredding makes such obvious sense. As well as paper, the Act also includes storage media such as CDs and hard drives.
