WEEE Directive

WEEE Directive

Information stored on computers and other IT equipment such as copiers, fax
machines and even printers can be easily overlooked. And it’s an uncomfortable fact that even if you reformat a hard drive and erase its contents, it’s still possible to retrieve data from it.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations aim to separate this equipment from municipal waste for better recovery and recycling rates. All businesses have to comply. And if you dispose of WEEE that may contain information covered by the Data Protection Act, you should ensure that the waste disposal business you use holds a relevant certificate in information security management or equivalent. Our secure fragmentation and incineration service takes care of all of this for you.
